The DOWA Group participated in the United Nations Global Compact.

Dowa Holdings Co., Ltd. today announced that its participation in the United Nations Global Compact Initiative, which is consisted of 10 principles regarding human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, has been acknowledged and accepted by the United Nations on 11, March 2009.

The Global Compact is a voluntary corporate citizenship initiative proposed by UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan in 1999 at the World Economic Forum, and was officially established at UN in 2000. It is an approach to join in building a global framework for implementation of more sustainable development, which is considered that creative and responsible leadership of companies as a member of the society will be led. Approximately 6,700 companies globally have participated in the Global Compact (March 2009).

DOWA group is promoting the CSR activity on the basis on the value, code and guideline of the contact. As a global company and a participant of the Global Compact, the DOWA Group certainly respects and implements the following 10 principles, through not only compliance but also global environmental practices such as CSR procurement and global warming measure, for sustainable development of society.
