Environmental Management

Business Activity and Its Related Environmental Load

The DOWA group quantitatively assesses the balance between the input of resources and energy required in each stage of our business life cycle ("Input") and the output of 2 and wastes generated from its business activities ("Output"), when conducting its business activities, taking the balance of materials into consideration. We strive to understand the impact of our business activities on the global environment and put proper measures in place to reduce the load on the environmental, by quantitatively assessing the loss of energy and resources in connection with production and processing activities.

The DOWA group's business activities are classified into two areas: product manufacturing business that produces metal materials and semiconductors and environmental business, focusing on recycling and processing of wastes and purification of contaminated soil.

Most of wastes generated from the product manufacturing business are recycled and utilized as materials in the environmental business. By processing wastes in the environmental business, we effectively utilize energy generated when wastes are combusted, which generates steam and electricity and we use that energy for other processes. As we conduct our business, we are always aware of resource-recycling, through the mutual exploitation of substances and energy within the group.
