Completion of Largest Intermediate Processing Facilities in Japan

PhotoCompleted furnace

In March we completed one of the largest intermediate waste-treatment facilities of industrial wastes in Japan. These facilities were installed in ECO-SYSTEM Chiba, our main base of waste processing in Japan. The furnace installed there has Japanfs largest incineration capacity (600 t/day) for industrial wastes. We created the furnacefs cutting-edge system by integrating all technologies and know-how of the DOWA group . The furnace can process not only various types of industrial wastes, but also it generates electricity using steam from a heat recovery boiler (4,000 kW) for additional energy savings.

The DOWA group used to process industrial wastes mainly in the intermediate and final disposal bases in Akita, Chiba, Okayama and Kitakyushu cities. The enhanced capacity of Eco-System Chiba adds to the total disposal capacity of the DOWA group annually by one million t. This further emphasizes the strong presence of the DOWA group in the industrial waste disposal industry.

Our Efforts towards Reduction of Global Warming Gas

We are now implementing two projects. One is a project to collect used cooking oil to produce biodiesel fuel in Okayama City. This is an alternative fuel for diesel, and when used, it will reduce CO2 emission. The other is a project to collect and destruct global warming gas of methane from swine farms in the Philippines to create emission credits. We are committed to further advancement of each project and also developing new projects.

Participating in Industrial Waste Disposal Business in South East Asia

We acquired Modern Asia Environmental Holdings Inc. (gMAEHh Inc.) that has four bases of industrial wastes facilities in three countries; Indonesia, Thailand and Singapore with the aim of entering the South East Asian market. We will deploy the soil remediation business and the recycling business that we have already started in Japan, effectively utilizing these bases in these countries. In addition, we are committed to contributing to improving the environment in Asia through our environmental consulting service and the CDM business.
